Balenciaga doesn’t exactly need a huge campaign (it’s pretty big already you know) in fact all that’s necessary is a stunning Gisele and a fierce looking crop….Stunning!

Fashion Moves into London

For as long as I can remember fashion has been more than just designing amazing clothes or even catwalk shows.  To ensure a customer for life, brands have to sell a lifestyle, an attitude and overall an identity.  Nothing expresses this more than the brands store which could be online or bricks and mortar.  Take for instance Burberry and Gucci, both leading fashion brands with incredibly accessible, interactive and creative web stores however I still enjoy a good old fashioned shop, boutique, store whatever you call it; there is nothing better than walking through a store surrounded by all the things you love about that specific brand or concept.  Perhaps this is why London has recently seen an influx of brand spanking new stores for us to explore!!  From Celine to JCrew, Karl Largerfeld to Christopher Kane, London is brimming with amazing new spaces by the World’s leading names!  With some just open and others to come, I think its necessary to don those new Nike’s (comfort first) and get shopping…..

Trans-Seasonal

From digging out last years crop tops and going to work with a slightly burnt nose to turning up the heating and ensuring my beanie is close by at all times….yep, it’s that uncertain, temperamental time of year again – Spring!!!  Mornings now consist of deciding whether to wear my new mules with or without socks, seeing if it’s warm enough to wear anything above the knee without tights whilst always remembering to carry my scarf…just in case.  I feel stuck in a rut of dungarees, jeans and jumpers, constantly fighting the urge to look like a typical ‘hipster’ in their Birkenstocks (so comfy) and sports socks (so warm), since when was fashion so practical yet oh so cool?  This could be a good go on and then you remember, the pre collections, of course!  My trans-seasonal calling card this pre-season is the impeccable Celine with all the clean lines, subtle trends and understated luxe you could wish for.  It’s decided, I want it all and I want it now!

Ruifier

Recently launched jewellery brand Ruifier is bringing a new aesthetic to the luxury market ‘technology and design together in an innovative harmony’ and I am in love!  Combining structured shapes and precious stones, Ruifier is chic yet understated; the ideal combination. Most pieces come in either Sterling Silver or 18ct gold plated vermeil, often featuring precious stones such as black diamonds and emeralds!  Each piece is as visually pleasing as the price tag……and if that wasn’t enough, Ruifier are currently running a competition on twitter to win my favourite piece; the Icon Ring as featured on vogue.co.uk in November’s #WeWantThis! Add Ruifier on twitter @Ruifier for your chance to win!

Isabel Marant pour H&M

The time has come, Thursday 14th November is nearly upon us and why am I excited?  If you had asked me two months ago I wouldn’t have had a clue; however after seeing numerous images plus the catwalk preview as well as reading various interviews with the woman herself; I am now eagerly anticipating the arrival of Isabel Marant for H&M!! Despite the designer’s RTW line not being one of my favourites, Marant has come up with the most wearable, design lead, awesome collaboration with H&M; perhaps because Marant’s clothes are in essence a high end designer version of H&M – laid back chic! This is by far the best looking collaboration H&M has done to date – heaven on the high street; the best bits….?
