Dolce & Gabbana AW13

For the last few season’s Dolce & Gabbana’s campaigns have been amongst my favourite!  Shot by Domenico Dolce and featuring Bianca Balti, Monica Bellucci and Kate King as well as a new addition Andreea Diaconu, Italian family life is once again at the heart of the concept.  AW13 explores Italian drama and scandal centred around the church and religion.  The backdrop acts as a fitting location for the collection’s main pieces inspired by the catholic church’s traditional mosaic artwork alongside the timeless black and red Dolce lace.  Standout pieces include the amazing gothic, oversized Dolce & Gabbana jewels that this season take the form of crucifixes, crowns and door knocker earrings!  Drama, drama, drama……

Men’s Collections

Men’s Collections London is quickly becoming one of the most influential Menswear weeks of the year!  Burberry returned from Milan and newcomers such as JW Anderson created one of Men’s Collections most high profile weeks to date.  On the catwalk, colour was one of the key trends from strong primary’s to summery pastels, sketched graphics seen at Christopher Kane were also popular and designers such as Jonathan Saunders continued to push boundaries with unique fabrics.  However, it wasn’t just the catwalk that attracted attention, from Florence to London and Milan; the menswear street chic on show was unmissable.  Tommy Ton amongst others, captured everything from dapper suits, to the chiselled models and the women literally rocking the ‘boy meets girl’ trend……Apparently Menswear really is where it’s at!

Luella for Marc by Marc Jacobs

Luella Bartley is back on the scene….for none other than Marc Jacobs himself!  Luella will be taking on Marc Jacobs’s sister line Marc by Marc Jacobs!!! Along with her Friend Katie Hillier who is now the Creative Director, Luella will be heading up the brand as Design Director with Marc Jacobs taking a step back – but still overseeing all ideas.  Hopefully Luella will bring her experience  plus her kitsch attitude to put Marc by Marc Jacobs back in the spotlight!  Watch this space….
