Dior’s Couture show; possibly one of the most anticipated shows of the year. Could the king of cool, sleek, minimal style move to a house depicted by it’s decedent history and more recently the adventurous, outrageous and sometimes vulgar designs of John Galliano? More importantly could he put his own stamp on a collection and relive the iconic New Look created post War by Dior, celebrating sculptural shapes and a fresh attitude ?
The peplum gave a new emphasis on the waist but it was the pure craftsmanship, sharp tailoring and umbrella skirts that ring true to the house of Dior; whilst still hinting at the new era to come……Raf Simmons fans, watch this space.
