Tangerine Dream

Every season there is a statement colour that stands out, whether you like it or not – it will be worn!  So far, the S/S13 shows have given us a variety of looks from the Sicilian beauties at Dolce&Gabbana to the ‘light’ comeback of the ultimate minimalist, Jill Sander.  The colour du jour?  Tangerine of course!!  A strong, bold (I’d go as far to say) intense Tangerine, relieving front rowers from the soft pastels of S/S12.  Being a lover of brights and print, I for one couldn’t be happier!!  From fluorescent lips, to full length gowns and THAT Victoria Beckham blazer; this Tangerine demands to be noticed and so far it’s definitely got everyone’s attention!

CHANEL at The Saatchi

Chanel is coming to London……not only is there a new Chanel exhibition; but yep, it’s on it’s way to the capital!  ‘The Little Black Jacket’ exhibition will be housed at The Saatchi Gallery during October.  Via photographs taken by the Kaiser himself, the exhibition showcases Chanel’s iconic Little Black Jacket through the eyes of 109 Chanel approved fashionistas.  Based on the book that explores the versatility of The Little Black Jacket celebrities from Anna Wintour to Charlotte Casiraghi pose with their very own Chanel (jealous much?!).  Both the book and exhibition are a must for anyone interested in the legacy of Coco Chanel, the history of one of the most famous fashion houses in the World and of course that Little Black Jacket!!!!  Until October we can only dream……

So much time has past it only seemed right to refresh my memory with the main trends of the current Fashion Season – on and off the catwalk.  One of the most under the radar, emerging trends seems to be focusing on Accessories.  In other terms we have seen a come back of the perspex bag, the bag that shows your goods off the the nation but at the same time looks surprisingly sleek, fresh and so totally SS13!  Everyone’s doing it…
