Could it be the dramatic new hair cut or are insiders simply wanting to be one step ahead of the Cara craze? Whatever it is, on closer inspection the modelling world has and still is being dominated by another young Brit….step forward Edie Campbell! Since 2011, Edie has been shooting seasonal campaigns for Burberry, her face has been seen on many a catwalk and even featured in Hedi Slimane’s first campaign for Saint Laurent. However this year has seen Campbell chop off her strawberry blonde locks in favour of a choppy (almost mullet like) black crop; moving out of the shadows and firmly into the fashion spotlight! It seems the whole industry has taken note and watched this girl morph from the perfectly sweet, doe eyed, sixties inspired dolly girl to an edgy, raw, cool 22 year old. Campbell opened AW13 shows for influential brands such as Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander, Louis Vuitton and Burberry, not something to be taken lightly. Soon you won’t be able to miss Edie as she is the new star of AW13 campaigns for Lanvin, Jill Sander and Marc Jacobs!! It really is Edie Campbell’s season, get in girl!!

Freja – Back to Her Best
Since her first starring role in the Gucci by Gucci fragrance campaign, I have been slightly obsessed with Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen!! From long to short hair, her look inspired designers and made her the iconic model of the last 5 years. However, recently, perhaps over the last 2-3 seasons, she seems to have disappeared from the limelight….that is until now!! Freja is back, and obviously being a lot more selective with her work. Savvy choices see her staring in the iconic new Saint Laurent and Prada campaigns and man, does she looks good….that girls still got it!!! Freja has reaffirmed her position as the definition of cool and she doesn’t need an Instagram account to prove it….move over Cara and let a pro show you how its done!!
Cara’s Model Moment
From exciting editorials to various front covers and high profile campaigns; each year there is one face, one model that dominates the pages of our magazines, street style blogs and catwalks. Step forward British model Cara Delevingne!! Since her debut for Burberry in 2011, Cara Delevingne; has walked for a variety of high profile designers, appeared in numerous magazine editorials and bagged campaigns from H&M to Chanel!! It’s no wonder then that her face is everywhere and to end the year in style, she was named ‘Model of the Year’ 2012 by the BFC.
By breaking the Burberry mould through a variety of diverse roles and appearing in publications from The Journal to Style.com; Cara has far surpassed my expectations and shown that she undoubtedly has what it takes! Not shy of being papped, she has won over fashion critics Worldwide with her relaxed, Tomboy style and got a reputation for being fun and easy going. With a new campaign for DKNY just released, being named as the face set to launch accessory brand My Crazy Scrunchie and fashion month just around the corner; I can only imagine 2013 will be another stella year for Miss Delevingne!!
So, as 2012 comes to a close here are some of my favourite images of Cara:
Pinafore Watch
Wanted – Topshop Boutique Leather Pinafore. Pinafore’s can have both good or bad connotations dependant on your experience of them at school; luckily mine happen to be all good and I cannot resist the perfect wardrobe staple. Step forward Topshop who have yet again delivered with a variety of on-trend options. They have, in fact outdone themselves this year with the best selection of pinafore’s I’ve seen since my mum came back from the school shop with one in each colour! Easy and chic, smart or casual; whatever you fancy a pinafore will fit the bill, perfect for Christmas day perhaps.
However, beware: No one wants to look like an extra from St Trinian’s….A pair of clumpy (preferably MiuMiu) boots, chic polo-neck, statement bomber and little beanie (for added warmth) will ensure you look more fashion cool than fashion school!!

A Week of Burberry Weather
The only thing keeping me from crying at the site of seven days of rain on my iphone weather, is the thought of wearing my Burberry mac to keep me dry! I do enjoy the S/S 12 campaign however my favourite Burberry look is a timeless black and white advert from the 60’s-both pairings, the perfect Burberry couples!
